Six Sigma

Six Sigma is a number- and fact-based kind of project management. By systematically applying Six Sigma ambitious quality objectives can be achieved (Six Sigma: < 3,4 defect parts per million produced parts). It is the focal point of Six Sigma to reduce quality costs by applying purposeful measures and to provide an excellent process orientation to organizations. Furthermore it assists in process improvement and generates sustainable results by defining specific performance objectives for all members of a project. The customers’ benefits are always in the centre of interest.

Content/Structure

  • Training of participants including practical exercises and explanation of procedure
  • Fields of application: Quality, Production, Production Planning, Logistics, Development
  • Presentation of approaches for implementation of Six Sigma in your organisation
  • Project management following the Six Sigma steps DMAIC
    • Define: Definition of measurable project objectives and customer requirements
    • Measure: Define defects and performance indicators, measure processes and evaluate performance
    • Analyse: Reason deviations, define process parameters, evaluate cause of defect
    • Improve: Generate improvement approaches, detect dependencies, determine working tolerances, update performance indicators, possibly re-engineer process, implementation
    • Control: Establish control mechanisms, transfer results, confirm and update standards
  • Application of Six Sigma methods e.g. statistic process control (SPC), Process- and Machine capability -analysis (PCA, MCA), failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA)
  • Application of Six Sigma Software
